October Isn't For Halloween Here!

We'd rather put out snow than ghosts!

October is for Halloween Christmas

The calendar has turned to the tenth month of the year and while many are putting up their Halloween decor we couldn’t be any further from the ghosts and ghouls!

October in our house means that it is officially time for everyone to embrace the Christmas spirit in both music and decorations.

But many don’t feel this way.

Here are some tips on how to get in the Christmas spirit early without getting in the way of those who love that OTHER holiday!

  1. “Practice” Your Recipes! 🧑‍🍳
While the actual holiday may be too far away for many to visualize, there is never a bad time to start baking Christmas treats and mixing in a holiday meal or two. These practice rounds will help you make a perfect meal this December and leave you looking like a seasoned pro! Just last night we took a run at this Short Rib Recipe, and while the practice was great, it also made the start of our week mouth-watering!

  2. Make Your List and Check (Sales) Twice! ✒️
October is an amazing time to sit down and make a list of every person that you will be purchasing a gift for this year. While we always remember family and friends, we tend to forget people like our local postman, hairdresser, and the others who help make our years lovely! By making a list now, and including things like your budget and ideas for each, you can be ready to look for the best retail sales over the next 80 days!

  3. DIY Christmas Cards ✉️
Sending out Christmas cards is a lovely tradition and one that everyone enjoys. This year though, skip the store-bought cards and instead opt to make your own. This Pinterest board is one of our favorite places to find too many ideas to count! This tradition is a fun one that can start at anytime during the year and you can include your kids or grandkids in the fun!

We hope these few tips will help you bring in the joy of Christmas a bit earlier this year and get you into the mood to put on Jingle Bells in October!
